What is this study about?
Heart diseases are a major problem worldwide that affect many people. Good treatments are available, but they don’t work the same for everyone. That is why more individualised care is needed.
Digital tools, such as health apps and wearable devices, can help tailor care and support the management of chronic conditions like heart disease by helping monitor health, follow treatment plans and stick to healthy habits.
However, for them to be truly effective, patients need to trust and use them consistently.
The INSPIRE-eHealth survey, part of the iCARE4CVD project, is investigating how these digital tools can be designed to promote long-term use and effectiveness. With this survey, we want to know what you think about digital tools like mobile health apps and wearable devices, including how you think these tools can help you stay active, take medication regularly and build healthy habits.
Who can participate?
We are looking for adults (18+) who are:
- At risk of a heart disease, such as suffering from diabetes, hypertension, obesity, chronic kidney disease, or rheumatic disease
- Diagnosed with a heart disease, such as heart attack, irregular heart rhythms or heart failure

Study details
- The study will run until end of June 2025
- The study is also conducted in Dutch and German.
- The study has been registered with the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS00036135).

How your data be data handled?
Your data will be collected and handled confidentially in line with data protection laws. All responses will remain confidential, and no conclusions will be made about your as participant. All data will be anonymised and aggregated for the purposes of processing and publication.
All data will be analysed by the German Foundation for the Chronically Ill, a nonprofit organisation in Germany aiming for sustainable improvement of the care of people with chronic illnesses.
Once the survey has been completed, you can request the results from Dr Bianca Steiner (steiner@dsck.de).

This survey is conducted in accordance with the study protocol, the current version of the Declaration of Helsinki and all national legal and regulatory requirements.
