Recruitment vacancy for iCARE4CVD Patient Advisory Board

iCARE4CVD is looking for a group of six patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) who are passionate about patient advocacy to join our Patient Advisory Board (PAB)!

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to pioneering research in cardiovascular health and collaborate with leading experts and other patients.

iCARE4CVD is a 4.5-year public-private international research collaboration aiming to personalise prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The project joins 33 leading partners and is led by University of Maastricht and global health company Novo Nordisk. For more information about the project, please visit www.icare4cvd.eu.

About the Patient Advisory Board

As a member of our PAB, you will regularly meet with iCARE4CVD representatives and fellow patients to actively engage in the project and provide valuable insights and guidance from a patient’s perspective, ensuring that our research outcomes truly reflect the needs and voices of patients.

We a looking for a group of maximum 6 individuals to ensure representation of profiles from different genders, ages, disease stages, geographies and levels of health literacy.

What you’ll do:

  • Join quarterly online meetings with researchers and other patients;
  • Attend the iCARE4CVD’s annual consortium meetings (online)
  • Provide recommendations for research priorities
  • Contribute to improve the patient experience in the project
  • Offer feedback on project policies and outputs related to patient care
  • Be involved in the development of care pathways
  • Support content creation for patients and be a project ambassador within your patient organisation

Criteria to apply:

  • Be affiliated with a patient organisation dedicated to CVD
  • Have prior experience in CVD advocacy or willingness to actively participate in a board advocating for cardiovascular health
  • Have diagnosed risk or firsthand experience of living with cardiovascular disease
  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Be based in the European Union or United Kingdom
  • Be proficient in English

Skills:

  • Able to communicate clearly and always in a respectful and inclusive manner
  • Able to work comfortably in an online environment
  • Maintaining confidentiality when required
  • Able to interpret large blocks of information and contribute to discussions

Compensation:

Each participant will receive compensation during the time of commitment. Patients required to travel for in-person meetings will have accommodation and travel costs reimbursed

Timeline and selection process

  • Interviews and selection: 10-17 June 2024 (flexible)
  • Start: September 2024

After applying:

1. The iCARE4CVD team, responsible for establishing the Patient Advisory Board, will evaluate the information provided.

2. Following the evaluation, shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an informal conversation, lasting up to 30 minutes, between June 14th and 21st (flexible dates).

3. If you are selected, further steps will be confirmed in subsequent communications.

4. All applicants will be notified of the outcome.
